Process Details

Startup steam vent at Immingham combined heat and power station.

Supply

Steam vent silencer complete with side entry inlet diffuser designed for a flow of 510,000 lb/hr. Silencer was 3250mm in diameter, 6000mm long, and weighed 11,500 Kgs.

Special Requirements

Designed to restrict back pressure at the inlet to < 0.5 barg.

Performance

Sound pressure level reduced to 100 dB(A) at one metre from the open outlet.
Estimated un-silenced noise level was 152 dB(A).
